By definition, a Mediator is a neutral who can handle any case! A mediator facilitates the communication between parties rather than making a decision. If this statement is true, then he/she doesn’t need to be an expert in any field or have a deep knowledge of law. However, like any other profession, experience is very valuable. Someone with experience in a specific field has more knowledge that gives them the ability to understand a case and manage the discussion.
