“I help people in conflict have a conversation that leads to satisfying agreements or at least clarity about what to do next. My clients never feel pressured by me; they only feel supported in making the best possible decisions.” – Dan Simon

Biography: As a teacher and practitioner of the transformative approach, Dan helps parties have a constructive conversation about their differences. He received his law degree, cum laude, from the University of Minnesota School of Law, his M.A. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Minnesota, and his B.A., with honors, from the University of California at Berkeley. Although Dan is licensed to practice law in Minnesota, he prefer to practice mediation exclusively. Dan worked as a business litigation attorney and as a family business consultant. Throughout his career, he has sought better ways to intervene in cases of highly emotional conflict, as well as in cases that are all about money.

Dan is a past Chair of the Minnesota State Bar Association’s ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution) Section. Dan is also a member of the Minnesota Supreme Court’s ADR Ethics Board (which is responsible for upholding ethical standards of ADR providers).  He’s a member of the Board of Directors and also a Fellow of the Institute for the Study of Conflict Transformation. Dan has the highest possible rating (AV – Preeminent) from Martindale Hubbell and the highest possible rating (10.0 – Superb) on Avvo.com.”
