OVERVIEW: Joan uses the flow of a mediation to reach the interest levels of the parties and bring about a resolution.
BIOGRAPHY: Joan Shultz is an accredited Mediator with experience handling many different types of disputes. With her extensive involvement in real estate spanning over 30 years, she is uniquely qualified to understand the real estate business, its people, and its pressures.
Recognized as a skilled mediator with a reputation for positive results, Joan Shultz is a member of the California Association of Realtors Panel of Mediators, and the Ventura Superior Court Panel of Mediators for court mandated mediation. She is also associated with the Ventura Center for Dispute Settlement as a valued mediator and Supervisor of Small Claims Court Mediators.
Joan has worked as both an agent with major real estate companies, and as the REO Sales Manager for Washington Mutual, involved in the sale of bank owned properties across the United States. Her familiarity with handling situations that occur during transactions provides context and understanding during the mediation process.
In addition, Joan served on the Grievance Committee for the Beverly Hills Board of Realtors, now BHGLAAR, and as an arbitrator for the American Arbitration Association. She graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor of Arts, from the University of West Los Angeles as a Paralegal, received a Certificate of Completion for Mediation Training from the Ventura Center for Dispute Settlement, and Mediation Training from Pepperdine University.
Joan is currently a member of the Southern California Mediation Association, the Conejo Simi Moorpark Association of Realtors, and the Ventura County Bar Association.

I have mediated litigated cases for the Ventura Superior Court, cases for the Calif Assn of Realtors, and cases for the Ventura Center for Dispute Resolution. The combination of experience with mediated cases and my business background as a Vice President for Washington Mutual as the REO Sales Manager and my real estate sales as a Broker give me depth and understanding when mediating.
