Overview: As a licensed attorney, business owner, construction consultant and construction expert for over 20 years, Michael Tomeo possesses a unique skill set for resolving construction, insurance, business and other related disputes. Over the past 20 years, he has been retained by sureties, insurance companies, public agencies, general contractors and subcontractors to assist in resolving business, insurance and construction disputes on hundreds of public and private projects with costs totaling billions of dollars.

Biography: In addition to being a mediator, Mr. Tomeo is a partner of Benchmark Consulting Services, LLC, a consulting firm with offices in Arizona, California and Nevada.

Not only does Mr. Tomeo provide alternative dispute resolution services for construction, insurance and business related matters, he continues to provide construction consulting and expert services for Benchmark’s clients in the areas of construction defect, surety, construction project management and construction claim preparation and defense.

Mr. Tomeo has been retained as an expert on numerous litigated matters, and has defended and prepared multiple claims for insurance companies, project owners, sureties, general contractors and subcontractors. He has acted as a liaison between project owners and contractors to resolve construction disputes, and has participated as a construction expert in mediation, arbitration and trial.

Mr. Tomeo has been an attorney for over 20 years, has worked in the construction field for over 30 years (including working part-time in the construction trades while completing high school, college and law school) and has owned his own consulting firm for over 15 years.
