BIOGRAPHY: Munro’s first business job was with a subsidiary of Mobil Oil Company in Los Angeles, first in marketing, then marketing research. From there he went to Ampex Corporation in Redwood City, where he started in marketing research, followed by product management and international marketing. After consulting with several Bay area electronics companies, he founded and operated a retail electronics store, selling stereo, community antenna systems, videotape recorders and complete recording studios. Munro left the Bay Area to join Saki Magnetics, a small electronics company in Santa Monica, and finally Spin Physics in San Diego. His positions there included market research and product management.
Following those experiences, he purchased and operated a service station in Del Mar, which enabled him to go to University of San Diego Law School at night. He obtained his law license in 1977. Munro’s first office was a table at Denny’s restaurant next door. After he sold his service station, he purchased, managed and then sold two Goodyear Tire stores. Since 1979 the practice of law has been his sole income-earning activity.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
In order to take advantage of his extensive business experience, he concentrated his practice on seeking solutions to the problems of business people. His interest in real estate led him to add buyers and sellers of real property to his client base. Munro’s clients have included: owners/operators of service stations, beauty salon, chiropractic, acupuncture practice, general contractor, mailbox service; buyers, sellers and tenants of residential and commercial property; buyers and sellers of small businesses.
Contracts were and are involved in most of the matters in which he has been involved. Since business people have better things to do than participate in discovery and a trial, they were almost always interested in settling their controversies outside of the court system. That fit his goals perfectly, and resulted in almost all of the controversies that he handled being settled either before suit was filed, usually by the adverse party, or before trial. Some were the result of formal mediation, others by two-attorney settlement conferences with the opposing parties.
